Los primeros estudios arqueológicos relativos al Complejo Cultural Bolo-Quebrada Seca, se remontan a la década de los 40 cuando los investigadores norteamericanos james Ford y Wendell Bennett, lograron identificar y caracterizar los complejos Pichindé, Bolo y Quebrada Seca, estudiando las costumbres funerarias y estableciendo las primeras tipologías cerámicas y de tumbas (Ford 1944; Bennett 1944). Estas investigaciones constituyeron un aporte muy importante al desarrollo de la arqueología del Alto y Medio Cauca, en la medida en que permitieron comenzara revelar la gran diversidad cultural que había existido durante el período prehispánico en la región. |
