Programa Red PYME: una experiencia de interacción Universidad - Gran Empresa y Empresas PYMES

This paper presents the main aspects of the action oriented research project developed by the Center for Entrepreneurship Development of the Universidad Icesi in order to create and to develop a SME´s network around the main electrical company of the region . With the support of the International Development Bank and as one of the six project oriented to improve the managerial training of the owner and main executives of SME’s in Latin America, the Center for Entrepreneurship Development has oriented a integral relationship between the University , 18 SME’s and EPSA ( Pivot company) in order to design and to execute managerial training , to provide managerial assistance in different fields, to conduct research, to create new academic materials and to establish a network that is generating very important results for all the companies involved. This project has shown a new procedure to develop training programs for SME and new ways to establish a network in which simultaneously are working one big company, 16 SME’s and one University. Also a very important interaction has been developed among the academic and the productive sector, showing that in Latin America this interaction is fruitful and feasible.
