Description
Summary:Purpose - The electronic sports as known as “esports” is the result of video gaming as a professional activity and the support of a large fan base around the world, which has led to it being sponsored by several renowned companies and made out of it an attractive way of living for the younger generations. However, the formation of new esports teams is an arduous task when compared to traditional sports, and it becomes an even more challenging task for Latin American countries partly due to the lack of digital applications that provide an agile and effective way to communicate players and recruiters. The aim of the present paper was to understand the player recruitment in Latin American esports teams, in order to create a reliable digital solution that provides a better way for player recruitment. Design methodology - A double diamond methodology was used, characterized by a research phase and a design phase, 4 months each. The research phase consisted of a bibliographic review and interviews with stakeholders in order to obtain a better understanding of how latin american esports teams work and how the recruiting process is carried out. Once the research stage was completed, we proceeded with the design of a web platform focused on the creation of professional player profiles and a recruitment system based on the collected insights.
