Summary:The development of competency education based on a complex approach is a necessity in the development of higher education in general and in the case of the engineer in particular for the new challenges of the Third Millennium (Adriana Isis Cerato and Monica Gallino, 2013) , where the need to know the practices in the learning process of professionals is seen since it is these activities that allow to contribute to the execution of projects effectively. This directed work aims to be a contribution to define and compare the teachings of practices and software tools of engineering programs in the city of Bogotá, based on the analysis of the data obtained through the investigation of bibliographic references and the questionnaire that it is applied to the study sample.
