Summary:This paper aims to examine in depth the results of monetary poverty in Colombia, highlighting the importance of key variables for the labor market, such as gender and education, through the decomposition of changes in the Poverty due to population dynamics is found that men have a greater contribution to poverty reduction, and although women are gaining participation their conditions are less favorable, as regards education is evidenced an inverse relationship between educational level and Poverty in Colombia, but more than half of the heads of household have no education.
