On the other hand, the ease and practicality with which a concept is reached, which is offered by the methodology itself, allows quick decisions to be made and the process to be energized (Standford, 2017). A determining factor for the development of the tool is that it contains simple characteristics that can support organizations on their improvement journey. Findings: Some organizations face the inclusion of Lean for the achievement of goals and sustainability of the business, however, sometimes the two initiatives, ISO 55001 and Lean, are not working hand in hand. Organizations have appointed; in some cases; different teams to achieve goal in parallel, leading to confusion. Then becomes unclear for people the How? When? What processes do each apply to? and the common question, Who governs whom? Value: This research intends to clarify the relationship between ISO 55001 and Lean and provide a guide for organizations to achieve the joint efforts of the two initiatives working hand in hand. Metodología: Se selecciona Design Thinkig por el gran valor que le da a las experiencias de las personas que se relacionan con el desarrollo de la idea y su proceso en la materialización, toda vez que permite fortalecer el estado del arte con la visión de los expertos a partir de su experiencia; por otro lado la facilidad y practicidad con la que se llega a un concepto, que lo ofrece la propia metodología, permite que se tomen decisiones rápidas y se dinamice el proceso (Standford, 2017). Un factor determinante para el desarrollo de la herramienta es que ella contenga características simples que logren ser de apoyo a las organizaciones en su ruta hacía la mejora. Hallazgos: Algunas organizaciones que toman la decisión de implementar la ISO 55001, saben lo importante de que el Sistema de Gestión de Activos sea sostenible en el tiempo y cumpla con ciclos de mejora continua. Entonces paralelamente, enfrentan la inclusión de Lean para el cumplimiento de metas y sustentabilidad del negocio, sin embargo, algunas veces las dos iniciativas, norma ISO 55001 y Lean, no están trabajando de la mano; algunas organizaciones, incluso, han nombrado equipos diferentes para el alcance de cada meta de forma paralela, llegando a generar confusiones del ¿Cómo?, ¿Cuándo?, ¿A qué procesos se aplican cada una de ellas? y la pregunta común, ¿Quién rige a quién? Valor: Esta investigación intenta dar claridad a la relación entre la ISO 55001 y Lean y aportar una guía para que las organizaciones logren que las dos iniciativas trabajen de la mano, enfocando metas y esfuerzos conjuntos.
