Summary:Pain is frequent in diabetic neuropathy and is hard tomanage. Antiepileptic drugs have been used in treatingpain for several decades now. Nevertheless, their e?ec-tiveness when used as analgesics in painful diabetic neu-ropathy still remains controversial. We conducted ameta-analysis for determining which antiepileptic drughad the best analgesic potential for managing pain inpatients su?ering from painful diabetic neuropathy. Thesearch covered the Cochrane, MEDLINE, EMBASEand LILAC S databases, between January 1966 and Sep-tember 2005.
