In this regard, it is proposed that early speech perception has a primary role in language acquisition. In order to provide an overview of the current scientifc knowledge as to the capabilities of children under the age of one to perceive spoken language, this paper presents the results of the most relevant research on discrimination of classes and types of words, interidiomatic and prosodic discrimination, phonological and phonotactic discrimination, as well as recognition of distributional regularities amongst the elements of the speech signal. © 2012, Konrad Lorenz University Foundation.application/pdf1200534https://repository.urosario.edu.co/handle/10336/23216spaFundacion para el Avance de la Psicologia23No. 112Revista Latinoamericana de PsicologiaVol. 46Revista Latinoamericana de Psicologia, ISSN:1200534, Vol.46, No.1 (2014); pp. 12-23https://app.dimensions.ai/details/publication/pub.1017771716Abierto (Texto Completo)http://purl.org/coar/access_right/c_abf2instname:Universidad del Rosarioreponame:Repositorio Institucional EdocURCognitive skillsEarly developmentLanguage acquisitionSpeech perceptionSpeech perception in the first year of lifeLa percepción del habla durante el primer año de vidaarticleArtículohttp://purl.org/coar/version/c_970fb48d4fbd8a85http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_6501Birchenall L.B.Galindo Ó.Müller, Oliver10336/23216oai:repository.urosario.edu.co:10336/232162022-05-02 07:37:19.051715https://repository.urosario.edu.coRepositorio institucional EdocURedocur@urosario.edu.co
