Methods: Retrospective review of 2638 medical records of patients with uveitis in two centers during 17 years. Results: A total of 25 patients with uveitis were diagnosed with VKH syndrome (0.95%), 23 patients were included in the data analysis (0.87%), 78.3% females, and mean age of diagnosis was 37 years (SD ± 29). Main complaints: blurred vision (87%), headaches (47.8%), tinnitus (26.1%), and hearing impairments (21.7%). Ophthalmic findings: bilateral serous retinal detachment (73.9%) and non-granulomatous uveitis (52.3%). Most of the patients were diagnosed with probable disease (56.5%). Mean duration of follow-up was 14 months; disease relapse was encountered in 26% of patients despite treatment. Conclusion: Patients in Colombia with VKH had clinical features similar to those reported in other Hispanic populations, except for the non-granulomatous uveitis. This disease may be considered as having variation of clinical manifestations across population groups.application/pdfhttps://doi.org/10.1080/09273948.2017.1341536ISSN: 0927-3948EISSN: 1744-5078https://repository.urosario.edu.co/handle/10336/27207engInternational Uveitis Study Group and Uveitis Society of IndiaTaylor & Francis Group1127No. 71123Ocular Immunology and InflammationVol. 26Ocular Immunology and Inflammation, ISSN: 0927-3948;EISSN: 1744-5078, Vol.26, No.7 (2018); pp. 1123-1127https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/abs/10.1080/09273948.2017.1341536?src=recsys&journalCode=ioii20Restringido (Acceso a grupos específicos)http://purl.org/coar/access_right/c_16ecOcular Immunology and Inflammationinstname:Universidad del Rosarioreponame:Repositorio Institucional EdocURClinical characteristicsColombiaEpidemiologySerous retinal detachmentUveitisVogt–Koyanagi–HaradaVogt-Koyanagi-Harada syndrome in a group of patients in two ophthalmology referral centers in Bogotá, Colombia.: VKH syndrome in ColombiaSíndrome de Vogt-Koyanagi-Harada en un grupo de pacientes en dos centros de referencia de oftalmología en Bogotá, Colombia: síndrome VKH en ColombiaarticleArtículohttp://purl.org/coar/version/c_970fb48d4fbd8a85http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_6501Guayacán, Carol L.Galindo-Mendez, Brahyande-la-Torre, Alejandra10336/27207oai:repository.urosario.edu.co:10336/272072022-05-02 07:37:17.946623https://repository.urosario.edu.coRepositorio institucional EdocURedocur@urosario.edu.co
