Pulmonary disease in patients with SSc is strongly associated with mortality. The mechanisms involved into its pathophysiology include the activation of autoimmune cells and hyperplasia of fibroblasts with an increased capacity to produce collagen and diminished collagen breakdown. Although pulmonary biopsy is the gold standard for the diagnosis of interstitial lung disease in SSc, the most commonly used method is high-resolution computed tomography due to its high sensitivity and specificity. Herein, a comprehensive review on the pulmonary involvement in SSc is presented highlighting the radiologic–pathologic correlations. © 2016 Elsevier B.V.application/pdfhttps://doi.org/10.1016/j.autrev.2016.07.02515689972https://repository.urosario.edu.co/handle/10336/23245engElsevier B.V.1108No. 111094Autoimmunity ReviewsVol. 15Autoimmunity Reviews, ISSN:15689972, Vol.15, No.11 (2016); pp. 1094-1108https://www.scopus.com/inward/record.uri?eid=2-s2.0-84992507430&doi=10.1016%2fj.autrev.2016.07.025&partnerID=40&md5=eb753a53d9fad18c625cd44205718f28Abierto (Texto Completo)http://purl.org/coar/access_right/c_abf2instname:Universidad del Rosarioreponame:Repositorio Institucional EdocURBiological markerAspiration bronchiolitisAspiration pneumoniaBronchiolitisBronchiolocentric fibrosisClinical featureCombined pulmonary fibrosis and emphysemaDiaphragm diseaseDiffuse alveolar damageEpidemiologyHistopathologyHumanInterstitial pneumoniaLung cancerLung diseaseLung emphysemaLung fibrosisLung hemorrhageLung infectionNon specific interstitial pneumoniaOrganizing pneumoniaPathophysiologyPulmonary capillary hemangiomatosisPulmonary hypertensionPulmonary veno-occlusive diseaseReviewSystematic reviewSystemic sclerosisThorax radiographyUsual interstitial pneumoniaComplicationDiagnostic imagingFemaleImmunologyLungMalePathologySystemic sclerosisX-ray computed tomographyFemaleHumansLungMalePathologyPulmonary involvementRadiologySystemic sclerosisTomographyX-ray computedinterstitialx-ray computedinterstitialsystemicLung diseasesLung diseasesSclerodermaTomographyPulmonary involvement in systemic sclerosisarticleArtículohttp://purl.org/coar/version/c_970fb48d4fbd8a85http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_6501Morales-Cárdenas, AdrianaPérez-Madrid, CamilaArias, LilianaOjeda, PaulinaMahecha, María PaulaRojas-Villarraga, AdrianaCarrillo-Bayona, Jorge A.Anaya, Juan-Manuel10336/23245oai:repository.urosario.edu.co:10336/232452022-05-02 07:37:13.758463https://repository.urosario.edu.coRepositorio institucional EdocURedocur@urosario.edu.co |
