description El maltrato infantil es un evento en salud pública que afecta de manera global a la población, con consecuencias en morbi-mortalidad que muchas veces se desconocen. El maltrato infantil por negligencia es el más frecuente, pero también el más subdiagnosticado. Nuestro objetivo fue mapear la literatura que reporta el maltrato infantil por negligencia. La población a participar incluyó a neonatos y menores de 18 años con reporte de maltrato infantil por negligencia. Se realizó una revisión de literatura tipo revisión de alcance. La búsqueda de artículos se realizó por dos investigadores en mayo a diciembre de 2023, en MEDLINE, PUBMED, LILACS, DIALNET y GOOGLE SCHOLAR. Dos investigadores de forma independiente hicieron la selección preliminar de referencias relevantes y luego la extracción de información donde se referenció el tipo de negligencia, frecuencia negligencia reportado, tipo de familia, situación económica, comorbilidades del paciente, hallazgos, características de la familia (que se estudió), violencia intrafamiliar, antecedentes prenatales y a nacimiento, grupo minoría, razón de exclusión del artículo. Dichos resultados se reportaron en texto, tablas y figuras. Se analizaron 145 artículos principalmente de Estados Unidos. Se recolectó información en todos los ciclos de vida en menores de 18 años. La mayoría de artículos no especifica el tipo de negligencia. Para los que informaron la más frecuente fue negligencia dental, seguida de la falta de supervisión. Emerge la negligencia neonatal. Factores asociados fueron la pobreza, bajo nivel educativo de los padres. Se presentaron las características de los artículos incluidos, así como los factores de riesgo reportados.

El maltrato infantil por negligencia es el más frecuente, pero también el más subdiagnosticado. Nuestro objetivo fue mapear la literatura que reporta el maltrato infantil por negligencia. La población a participar incluyó a neonatos y menores de 18 años con reporte de maltrato infantil por negligencia. Se realizó una revisión de literatura tipo revisión de alcance. La búsqueda de artículos se realizó por dos investigadores en mayo a diciembre de 2023, en MEDLINE, PUBMED, LILACS, DIALNET y GOOGLE SCHOLAR. Dos investigadores de forma independiente hicieron la selección preliminar de referencias relevantes y luego la extracción de información donde se referenció el tipo de negligencia, frecuencia negligencia reportado, tipo de familia, situación económica, comorbilidades del paciente, hallazgos, características de la familia (que se estudió), violencia intrafamiliar, antecedentes prenatales y a nacimiento, grupo minoría, razón de exclusión del artículo. Dichos resultados se reportaron en texto, tablas y figuras. Se analizaron 145 artículos principalmente de Estados Unidos. Se recolectó información en todos los ciclos de vida en menores de 18 años. La mayoría de artículos no especifica el tipo de negligencia. Para los que informaron la más frecuente fue negligencia dental, seguida de la falta de supervisión. Emerge la negligencia neonatal. Factores asociados fueron la pobreza, bajo nivel educativo de los padres. Se presentaron las características de los artículos incluidos, así como los factores de riesgo reportados.Child abuse is a public health event that affects the population globally, with consequences in morbidity and mortality that are often unknown. Child abuse due to neglect is the most common, but also the most underdiagnosed. Our objective was to map the literature that reported child abuse due to neglect. The population to participate included neonates and children under 18 years of age with reports of child abuse due to neglect. A scoping review type literature review was carried out. The search for articles was carried out by two researchers in May to December 2023, in MEDLINE, PUBMED, LILACS, DIALNET and GOOGLE SCHOLAR. Two researchers independently made the preliminary selection of relevant references and then the extraction of information where the type of neglect, frequency of reported neglect, type of family, economic situation, comorbidities of the patient, findings, characteristics of the family (which were studied), domestic violence, prenatal and birth history, minority group, reason for exclusion from the article. These results are reported in text, tables and figures. 145 articles were analyzed, mainly from the United States. Information was collected in all life cycles in children under 18 years of age. Most articles do not specify the type of negligence. For those who reported, the most frequent was dental negligence, followed by lack of supervision. Neonatal neglect emerges. Associated factors were poverty, low educational level of the parents.
