Description
Summary:One of the most important things in trauma surgery is the preoperative planning of the surgery and above all the selection of the surgical approach. This chapter reviews the most common surgical approaches for upper extremity trauma, starting in the shoulder and finishing in the forearm. In each one of these instances, the indications, position of the patient, incision, and surgical dissection are reviewed. The shoulder is included as a brief section since in some cases of humeral fracture a more proximal extensile exposure may be required. © 2004 by Marcel Dekker, Inc. All Rights Reserved.
