A four year old patient with a history of nephrotic syndrome was admitted to emergency room (ER) with the following symptomsabdominal pain, fever, diarrhea and vomiting, associated to abdominal wall erythema, abdominal distension and peritoneal signs. In order to make a differential diagnosis of the infection, peritoneal fluid was extracted and, according to the characteristics found, treatment with broad-spectrum antibiotics was started. Cases in which different infections like pneumonia, abdominal wall peritonitis and cellulitis occur simultaneously have been reported rarely. Early diagnosis and dismissal of other causes of acute abdominal pain, as well as early introduction of antibiotics are fundamental in the treatment of these kind of infections. © 2016 The Authorsapplication/pdfISSN 2213-5766http://repository.urosario.edu.co/handle/10336/18789eng5048Journal of Pediatric Surgery Case ReportsVol. 20Journal of Pediatric Surgery Case Reports, ISSN: 2213-5766, Vol. 20 (2017) pp. 48-50https://reader.elsevier.com/reader/sd/pii/S2213576616301993?token=2F3F0F463A7ED6754772EE1EB4A2FBDA34EBE331BE9EE0BA2992B5A9100CB3FB5A5F21609A5B199E86CACCAC737A84D3Abierto (Texto Completo)https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/http://purl.org/coar/access_right/c_abf2Senguttuvan, P., Ravanan, K., Prabhu, N., Tamilarasi, V., Infections encountered in childhood nephrotics in a pediatric renal unit (2004) Indian J Nephrol, 14, pp. 85-88instname:Universidad del Rosarioreponame:Repositorio Institucional EdocURCelulitisSindrome nefróticoAcute Phase ProteinAlbuminCalcitriolCalcium CarbonateCeftriaxoneClindamycinCreatinineFurosemidePenicillin DerivativePrednisoloneProcalcitoninSpironolactoneAbdominal DistensionAbdominal PainAbdominal WallArticleCase ReportCellulitisChildDehydrationDiarrheaDifferential DiagnosisEmergency WardErythemaFeverHumanLeukocytosisMaleNephrotic SyndromeNeutrophiliaParacentesisPeritoneal FluidPeritonitisPneumoniaPreschool ChildPriority JournalRelapseTachycardiaThorax RadiographyVomitingCellulitisNephrotic SyndromePrimary PeritonitisCelulitisSindrome nefróticoPeritonitisCoexistence of cellulitis and primary peritonitis in a pediatric patient with nephrotic syndrome : A case reportarticleArtículohttp://purl.org/coar/version/c_970fb48d4fbd8a85http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_6501Lagos, LuisaValero, JuanLagos, LuisaValero, JuanORIGINAL28.pdfapplication/pdf578248https://repository.urosario.edu.co/bitstreams/67784011-3562-4e3e-9ed3-792c995a9ba2/download7978b1a0066b6e1cfa99ecf4a61ba229MD51TEXT28.pdf.txt28.pdf.txtExtracted texttext/plain13578https://repository.urosario.edu.co/bitstreams/9da24fc9-3c97-41f0-8ec9-10d604dae0b4/download18e5e0700f3aa8f36428954977b1830bMD52THUMBNAIL28.pdf.jpg28.pdf.jpgGenerated Thumbnailimage/jpeg4812https://repository.urosario.edu.co/bitstreams/4a8f37b4-edab-45fb-a03e-b3dd4f3d36c5/downloadcbe672af6e23045a93bd79b898f6614fMD5310336/18789oai:repository.urosario.edu.co:10336/187892019-09-19 07:37:54.609585https://repository.urosario.edu.coRepositorio institucional EdocURedocur@urosario.edu.co
