Preliminary results showed a tendency to increased vegetation diversity as the social and economic status of boroughs increased.Cette étude a englobé les zones urbaines et périurbaines de Santiago du Chili. Le secteur métropolitain de 967 km2 comporte environ six millions d'habitants présentant des situations sociales et économiques variées. Le but de cet article était de déterminer la diversité de végétation, alpha (?) et bêta (ß), présente dans les 36 circonscriptions métropolitaines, et d'analyser la relation existant entre la biodiversité établie et les indices sociaux et économiques.
