This article, based on in-depth interviews with 35 journalists, examines the concept of interaction as understood by media sources in Colombia, Peru and Ecuador. These three countries are culturally and historically similar and have similar levels of Internet access. Most of the journalists indicated that they have adjusted their practice to incorporate some aspects of Internet-based interaction, such as social network presence and increased transparency to users. However, the media organizations for which they work have adopted few such procedures and maintain limited capacity to manage online participation. The journalists expressed their desire for the development of further ways to facilitate interaction with users.application/pdfhttps://doi.org/10.1386/cjcs_00016_1ISSN: 1757-1898EISSN: 1757-1901https://repository.urosario.edu.co/handle/10336/27891engIntellect117No. 199Catalan Journal of Communication and Cultural StudiesVol. 12Catalan Journal of Communication and Cultural Studies, ISSN: 1757-1898;EISSN: 1757-1901, Vol.12, No.1 (1 April 2020); pp. 99-117https://www.ingentaconnect.com/content/intellect/cjcs/2020/00000012/00000001/art00006;jsessionid=kaueauv7nah5.x-ic-live-03Restringido (Acceso a grupos específicos)http://purl.org/coar/access_right/c_16ecCatalan Journal of Communication and Cultural Studiesinstname:Universidad del Rosarioreponame:Repositorio Institucional EdocURColombiaEcuadorPeruJournalismOnline interactionUser-generated contentInteraction and user-generated content on online informative platforms: A comparison of journalists in Colombia, Peru and EcuadorInteracción y contenido generado por el usuario en plataformas informativas en línea: una comparación de periodistas en Colombia, Perú y EcuadorarticleArtículohttp://purl.org/coar/version/c_970fb48d4fbd8a85http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_6501Barredo-Ibáñez, DanielPinto-Garzón, Karen TatianaFreundt-Thurne, ÚrsulaMedranda-Morales, Narcisa Jessenia10336/27891oai:repository.urosario.edu.co:10336/278912021-06-03 00:51:07.223https://repository.urosario.edu.coRepositorio institucional EdocURedocur@urosario.edu.co
