Background: Chagas disease, affecting approximately eight million individuals in tropical regions, is primarily transmitted by vectors. Rhodnius prolixus, a triatomine vector, commonly inhabits in ecotopes with diverse palm tree species, creating optimal conditions for vector proliferation. This study aims to explore the transmission ecology of Trypanosoma cruzi, the causative parasite of Chagas disease, by investigating the feeding patterns and natural infection rates of R. prolixus specimens collected from various wild palm species in the Colombian Orinoco region.application/pdfhttps://doi.org/10.1371/journal.pntd.0011981https://repository.urosario.edu.co/handle/10336/42955engPLOSPLoS Neglected Tropical DiseasesAttribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 InternationalAbierto (Texto Completo)http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0/http://purl.org/coar/access_right/c_abf2PLoS Neglected Tropical Diseasesinstname:Universidad del Rosarioreponame:Repositorio Institucional EdocUREnfermedad de ChagasEnfermedades tropicalesTrypanosoma cruziChagas diseaseTropical diseasesTrypanosoma cruziTransmission ecology of Trypanosoma cruzi by Rhodnius prolixus (Reduviidae: Triatominae) infesting palm-tree species in the Colombian Orinoco, indicates risks to human populationsarticleArtículo de Investigaciónhttp://purl.org/coar/version/c_970fb48d4fbd8a85http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_6501Hernández, CarolinaVelásquez-Ortiz, NataliaBallesteros, NathaliaPáez-Triana, LuisaVega, LauraUrrea, VanessaRamírez, AngieMuñoz, MarinaIbarra-Cerdeña,CarlosGonzález, CamilaRamírez González, Juan DavidORIGINALTransmission ecology of Trypanosoma cruzi by Rhodnius prolixus.pdfapplication/pdf1908496https://repository.urosario.edu.co/bitstreams/daf726fc-b617-42e7-94fa-17710f98447e/download30f2f02d208c813741bb3f2282aa6037MD51TEXTTransmission ecology of Trypanosoma cruzi by Rhodnius prolixus.pdf.txtTransmission ecology of Trypanosoma cruzi by Rhodnius prolixus.pdf.txtExtracted texttext/plain75212https://repository.urosario.edu.co/bitstreams/ceec3879-ba4f-4828-abb8-a5edff6b7d93/downloadb201bfad0b6e873eeb53fb8a1ff1b780MD52THUMBNAILTransmission ecology of Trypanosoma cruzi by Rhodnius prolixus.pdf.jpgTransmission ecology of Trypanosoma cruzi by Rhodnius prolixus.pdf.jpgGenerated Thumbnailimage/jpeg4407https://repository.urosario.edu.co/bitstreams/271672d5-4812-4ea8-9d92-6ce00672ab90/downloade8da674fc9152667bad63d902c66a2e0MD5310336/42955oai:repository.urosario.edu.co:10336/429552024-07-09 03:01:56.331http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0/Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 Internationalhttps://repository.urosario.edu.coRepositorio institucional EdocURedocur@urosario.edu.co |
