Drawing on Social Exchange Theory (SET), this study empirically validates family motivation and civility as antecedents of affective commitment and organizational citizenship behavior through the mediating mechanism of self-efficacy. The process by Hayes (2013) was used to analyze time-lagged and multi-source data collected from 335 employees of educational and telecom sector. Results indicate that the relationship of affective commitment with family motivation and civility is partially mediated whereas the relationship of organizational citizenship behavior with family motivation and civility is fully mediated by self-efficacy. This study adds to the literature of family-work enrichment accounts by validating family motivation as a novel antecedent for positive behavioral outcomes. The implications of the study are discussed.application/pdfhttps://doi.org/10.3390/ejihpe10010027ISSN: 2174-8144EISSN: 2254-9625https://repository.urosario.edu.co/handle/10336/26914engMDPI374No. 1358European Journal of Investigation in Health, Psychology and EducationVol. 10European Journal of Investigation in Health, Psychology and Education, ISSN: 2174-8144 ; EISSN: 2254-9625, Vol.10, No.1 (2020); pp. 358-374https://www.mdpi.com/2254-9625/10/1/27/htmAbierto (Texto Completo)http://purl.org/coar/access_right/c_abf2European Journal of Investigation in Health, Psychology and Educationinstname:Universidad del Rosarioreponame:Repositorio Institucional EdocURFamily motivationCivilitySelf-efficacyAffective commitmentOrganizational citizenship behaviorRole of Family Motivation, Workplace Civility and Self-Efficacy in Developing Affective Commmitment and Organizational Citizenship BehaviorPapel de la motivación familiar, la civilidad en el lugar de trabajo y la autoeficacia en el desarrollo del compromiso afectivo y el comportamiento de ciudadanía organizacionalarticleArtículohttp://purl.org/coar/version/c_970fb48d4fbd8a85http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_6501Erum, HumairaAbid, GhulamContreras Torres, Francoise VeneziaIslam, TalatORIGINALejihpe-10-00027-v2.pdfapplication/pdf774651https://repository.urosario.edu.co/bitstreams/eabda85e-fd03-4496-98ff-d25ca7b0521f/download128f12744f7483d628321b31de99a52bMD51TEXTejihpe-10-00027-v2.pdf.txtejihpe-10-00027-v2.pdf.txtExtracted texttext/plain74154https://repository.urosario.edu.co/bitstreams/2a87531b-2625-458a-b756-d773c9331fab/downloada8c672723b242bde5483e06aa2f3301aMD52THUMBNAILejihpe-10-00027-v2.pdf.jpgejihpe-10-00027-v2.pdf.jpgGenerated Thumbnailimage/jpeg5112https://repository.urosario.edu.co/bitstreams/3641e1ea-c149-4ba3-9c6e-8f093f86af01/download1d888430e29888b97ace9cf29eff54bdMD5310336/26914oai:repository.urosario.edu.co:10336/269142021-08-24 06:01:33.42https://repository.urosario.edu.coRepositorio institucional EdocURedocur@urosario.edu.co
