Clinical relationship between dry eye disease and uveitis
This scoping review examined the relationship between Dry Eye Disease (DED) and Uveitis. We searched Pubmed, Embase, and LILACS databases for articles in which at least one patient had DED and uveitis concomitantly. The search produced 2381 records, and 24 studies were included in the qualitative sy...

We searched Pubmed, Embase, and LILACS databases for articles in which at least one patient had DED and uveitis concomitantly. The search produced 2381 records, and 24 studies were included in the qualitative synthesis. We concluded that DED and uveitis of any etiology could appear concomitantly in patients of any age. However, both diseases seem to coexist more frequently in middle-aged women and cases of anterior uveitis. Therefore, it is crucial that ophthalmologists actively look for the coexistence of ocular surface abnormalities, especially in patients with these characteristics. Future studies should establish and quantify the risk factors and pathophysiological mechanisms of this coexistence to achieve an early diagnosis of both etiologies and comprehensive management of these patients.application/pdf10.1186/s12348-022-00323-01869-5760https://repository.urosario.edu.co/handle/10336/42103engUniversidad del Rosariohttps://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC9886213/pdf/12348_2022_Article_323.pdfAttribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 InternationalAbierto (Texto Completo)https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/http://purl.org/coar/access_right/c_abf2Journal of Ophthalmic Inflammation and Infectioninstname:Universidad del Rosarioreponame:Repositorio Institucional EdocURDry eye diseaseUveitisOcular infammationOcular surfaceScoping reviewClinical relationship between dry eye disease and uveitisarticleArtículohttp://purl.org/coar/version/c_970fb48d4fbd8a85http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_6501Rojas?Carabali, WilliamMejía Salgado, GermánCifuentes González, CarlosVillabona Martir, ValeriaBarraquer?López, Nicolás DoménicoValdés?Arias, DavidDe La Torre Cifuentes, Ligia AlejandraORIGINALClinical relationship between dry eye disease and uveitis.pdfapplication/pdf983111https://repository.urosario.edu.co/bitstreams/8acdd6eb-1eed-4677-8d28-ded664e94e8c/download5a2e73c6bd6f9104eedd4243a870e313MD51TEXTClinical relationship between dry eye disease and uveitis.pdf.txtClinical relationship between dry eye disease and uveitis.pdf.txtExtracted texttext/plain78774https://repository.urosario.edu.co/bitstreams/621ed79c-b3d5-4b41-b2c1-be08a872aaba/downloadc81a2f4678a917bcff2ea51c50ccce0cMD52THUMBNAILClinical relationship between dry eye disease and uveitis.pdf.jpgClinical relationship between dry eye disease and uveitis.pdf.jpgGenerated Thumbnailimage/jpeg4531https://repository.urosario.edu.co/bitstreams/0eaca744-b455-4bf2-9c46-7229e5543a20/download695878ceceaa80d21c16c33dd25cfd2bMD5310336/42103oai:repository.urosario.edu.co:10336/421032024-02-01 03:02:39.57https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 Internationalhttps://repository.urosario.edu.coRepositorio institucional EdocURedocur@urosario.edu.co |
