There are no clear data in Colombia about the characteristics and presentation of these patients and there are few studies that describe it. Methodology: We conducted a case series study, based on the database of admitted patients, registered at Fundación Cardioinfantil-Instituto de Cardiología between 2016 and 2020. A univariate analysis of all the variables was conducted of all the variables of the study, and, using central tendency measures the behavior of each one is described. A bivariate analysis was done to describe the presentation between the variables of comorbidities and the presence of central venous thrombosis and the extension of it. Results: 25 patients with cerebral venous thrombosis diagnosis were included, with a mean age of 43 years (IQR=22) with a majority of male patients. In the 56% of the patients a thrombotic risk factor was identified, and in 20% autoimmune acquired thrombophilias were identified. The presence of arterial hypertension and diabetes were documented in the 40% and 20% respectively and most of them had thrombosis in more than one sinus Conclusion: The majority of patients with cerebral venous thrombosis of the Fundación Cardioinfantil-Instituto de Cardiología have a thrombotic risk factor, the most common were autoimmune acquired thrombophilias were identified. The diabetic and hypertense patients had more extensive cerebral venous thrombosis.application/pdfhttps://doi.org/10.48713/10336_30850 https://repository.urosario.edu.co/handle/10336/30850spaUniversidad del RosarioEscuela de Medicina y Ciencias de la SaludEspecialización en NeurologíaAbierto (Texto Completo)EL AUTOR, manifiesta que la obra objeto de la presente autorización es original y la realizó sin violar o usurpar derechos de autor de terceros, por lo tanto la obra es de exclusiva autoría y tiene la titularidad sobre la misma.http://purl.org/coar/access_right/c_abf2Dmytriw AA, Song JSA, Yu E, Poon CS.
