The differential diagnosis is a crucial aspect in SLE as many other autoimmune diseases portray clinical similarities and autoantibody positivity. Lupus mimickers refer to a group of conditions that exhibit both clinical features and laboratory characteristics, including autoantibody profiles that resemble those present in patients with SLE, and prompt a diagnostic challenge in everyday clinical practice. Thus, lupus mimickers may present as a lupus-like condition (i.e., 2 or 3 criteria) or as one meeting the classification criteria for SLE. Herein we review and classify the current literature on lupus mimickers based on diverse etiologies which include infections, malign and benign neoplasms, medications, and vaccine-related reactions. © 2014 Elsevier B.V.application/pdfhttps://doi.org/10.1016/j.autrev.2014.05.00215689972https://repository.urosario.edu.co/handle/10336/23221engElsevier872No. 8865Autoimmunity ReviewsVol. 13Autoimmunity Reviews, ISSN:15689972, Vol.13, No.8 (2014); pp. 865-872https://www.scopus.com/inward/record.uri?eid=2-s2.0-84902126572&doi=10.1016%2fj.autrev.2014.05.002&partnerID=40&md5=863b9bbf31bb455a3aeeca3dc73f5aacAbierto (Texto Completo)http://purl.org/coar/access_right/c_abf2instname:Universidad del Rosarioreponame:Repositorio Institucional EdocURAdverse drug reactionAngiofollicular lymph node hyperplasiaAutoimmunityBacterial infectionBenign tumorDisease exacerbationHumanKikuchi diseaseLupus like syndromeMalignant neoplastic diseaseMedical subject headingsMedlineMycosisParasitosisReviewSystematic reviewVaccination reactionVirus infectionInfectionLupus-likeMedicationNeoplasmSystemic lupus erythematosusVaccineAnimalsAutoantibodiesHumansNeoplasmsProbabilityInfectionLupus-likeMedicationNeoplasmSystemic lupus erythematosusVaccinesystemicdifferentialDiagnosisLupus erythematosusLupus mimickersarticleArtículohttp://purl.org/coar/version/c_970fb48d4fbd8a85http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_6501Calixto, Omar-JavierFranco, Juan-SebastianAnaya, Juan-Manuel10336/23221oai:repository.urosario.edu.co:10336/232212022-05-02 07:37:13.631277https://repository.urosario.edu.coRepositorio institucional EdocURedocur@urosario.edu.co
