This was a retrospective study in which 48 Colombian KD patients were included, and the rate and associated factors to cardiac involvement were investigated. The mean time from the first symptom until the diagnosis was 10.5 days. Cardiac involvement was registered in 13 (27%) patients, of whom 10 presented with coronary disease and 3 with a different cardiac manifestations. Forty-one patients (85.4%) received IV immunoglobulin. By multivariate analysis, the patient's age (OR: 0.91, 95% CI: 0.85–0.98, p = 0.01) and the lapse of time between onset of symptoms and diagnosis (OR: 1.21, 95% CI: 1.05–1.41, p = 0.01) were associated factors influencing cardiac involvement and coronary disease, respectively. The high rate of cardiac compromise in Colombian patients agrees with that observed in other Latin American populations. © 2009 Asociación Colombiana de Reumatologíaapplication/pdfhttps://doi.org/10.1016/S0121-8123(09)70110-00121812320279000https://repository.urosario.edu.co/handle/10336/23065engAsociacion Colombiana de Reumatologia137No. 2132Revista Colombiana de ReumatologiaVol. 16Revista Colombiana de Reumatologia, ISSN:01218123, 20279000, Vol.16, No.2 (2009); pp. 132-137https://www.scopus.com/inward/record.uri?eid=2-s2.0-85026320618&doi=10.1016%2fS0121-8123%2809%2970110-0&partnerID=40&md5=b0731329c3fc16acb984971db554bda1Abierto (Texto Completo)http://purl.org/coar/access_right/c_abf2instname:Universidad del Rosarioreponame:Repositorio Institucional EdocURImmunoglobulinAgeArticleClinical articleColombianCoronary artery diseaseDisease courseHeart diseaseHumanMucocutaneous lymph node syndromePrevalenceRetrospective studyRisk factorSouth and central americaAssociated factorsChildhoodCoronary diseaseKawasaki diseaseHigh rate of cardiac involvement in Colombian patients with Kawasaki DiseaseAlta tasa de afectación cardiaca en pacientes colombianos con enfermedad de KawasakiarticleArtículohttp://purl.org/coar/version/c_970fb48d4fbd8a85http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_6501Zapata-Castellanos, Aura L.Eraso, RuthPardo, Aryce L.Jaramillo, Juan C.Aguirre, CarlosAnaya, Juan-ManuelTrujillo, HugoORIGINALv16n2a02.pdfapplication/pdf459273https://repository.urosario.edu.co/bitstreams/e4688344-8668-4873-aba5-ad9f1633f7e1/downloadcbe7a000ca72eacf440730af32cb32c6MD51TEXTv16n2a02.pdf.txtv16n2a02.pdf.txtExtracted texttext/plain23608https://repository.urosario.edu.co/bitstreams/3960b9e2-f612-4c7d-815d-2a5c6a370804/downloadb069794ad5b0cce45c804f14dbee13ccMD52THUMBNAILv16n2a02.pdf.jpgv16n2a02.pdf.jpgGenerated Thumbnailimage/jpeg4211https://repository.urosario.edu.co/bitstreams/291d23f7-0fd7-4539-a8f5-bb8315e63403/download0b8389530779ff5d60057348fdedc1b9MD5310336/23065oai:repository.urosario.edu.co:10336/230652022-05-02 07:37:13.607623https://repository.urosario.edu.coRepositorio institucional EdocURedocur@urosario.edu.co
