Time reversal in polarized neutron decay: the emiT experiment

The standard electro-weak model predicts negligible violation of time-reversal invariance in light quark processes. We report on an experimental test of time-reversal invariance in the beta decay of polarized neutrons as a search for physics beyond the standard model. The emiT collaboration has meas...

The emiT collaboration has measured the time-reversal-violating triple-correlation in neutron beta decay between the neutron spin, electron momentum, and neutrino momentum often referred to as the D coefficient. The first run of the experiment produced 14 million events which are currently being analyzed. However, a second run with improved detectors should provide greater statistical precision and reduced systematic uncertainties.application/pdfhttps://doi.org/10.1016/S0168-9002(99)01056-6ISSN: 0168-9002EISSN: 1872-9576https://repository.urosario.edu.co/handle/10336/27114engElsevier652No. 3648Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research, Section A: Accelerators, Spectrometers, Detectors and Associated EquipmentVol. 440Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research, Section A: Accelerators, Spectrometers, Detectors and Associated Equipment, ISSN: 0168-9002;EISSN: 1872-9576, Vol.440, No.3 (2000); pp. 648-652https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0168900299010566Restringido (Acceso a grupos específicos)http://purl.org/coar/access_right/c_16ecNuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research, Section A: Accelerators, Spectrometers, Detectors and Associated Equipmentinstname:Universidad del Rosarioreponame:Repositorio Institucional EdocURNeutron beta decayAngular correlationWeak interactionTime reversal in polarized neutron decay: the emiT experimentInversión del tiempo en la desintegración de neutrones polarizados: el experimento emiTarticleArtículohttp://purl.org/coar/version/c_970fb48d4fbd8a85http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_6501Jones, G.L.Adams, J.MAnaya, Juan-ManuelBowles, T.J.Chupp., T.ECoulter, K.P.10336/27114oai:repository.urosario.edu.co:10336/271142021-08-05 17:40:03.483https://repository.urosario.edu.coRepositorio institucional EdocURedocur@urosario.edu.co
