Differences in conditional self-discrimination between wistar and Sprague-Dawley strains

Conditional self-discrimination capacity was studied and compared between two strains of 4 weeks old Rattus norvegicus. Each strain (15 Wistar and 16 Sprague-Dawley) was considered as a group, both trained under an escape paradigm in which a lever was associated to presence or absence of methylpheni...

Each strain (15 Wistar and 16 Sprague-Dawley) was considered as a group, both trained under an escape paradigm in which a lever was associated to presence or absence of methylphenidate. The dependent variable was measured during the phase of extinction. Significant differences were found for self-discrimination capacity, and between groups, being the Sprague-Dawley the strain with a better performance. Even though both strains are able to discriminate their internal state, and learn to use such state as a discriminative stimulus, the social variable seem to be a remarkable component of the differences found in the strains performances.application/pdfhttps://repository.urosario.edu.co/handle/10336/24324eng456No. 3449Interamerican Journal of PsychologyVol. 45Interamerican Journal of Psychology, Vol.45, No.3 (2011); pp. 449-456https://www.scopus.com/inward/record.uri?eid=2-s2.0-84865532515&partnerID=40&md5=079d6240cf2f0eda25ea71aeb0d872fbAbierto (Texto Completo)http://purl.org/coar/access_right/c_abf2instname:Universidad del Rosarioreponame:Repositorio Institucional EdocURConditional self-discriminationSocial behaviorSprague-dawley ratsWistar ratsDifferences in conditional self-discrimination between wistar and Sprague-Dawley strainsDiferencias de la autodiscriminación condicional entre cepas wistar y Sprague-DawleyarticleArtículohttp://purl.org/coar/version/c_970fb48d4fbd8a85http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_6501Hermosillo C.Penagos-Corzo J.C.Pérez Acosta, Andrés ManuelORIGINAL28425426014.pdfapplication/pdf935654https://repository.urosario.edu.co/bitstreams/d70efb5a-c3f3-4886-909a-0aaa9a19fb04/download4007ea8e94b48a6a851e6f9f1f52bb0cMD51TEXT28425426014.pdf.txt28425426014.pdf.txtExtracted texttext/plain37947https://repository.urosario.edu.co/bitstreams/0474064f-d08d-4d6c-9e1b-6d992d30b23f/download214fe1a6a6ac4801cc476a42a2418c6eMD52THUMBNAIL28425426014.pdf.jpg28425426014.pdf.jpgGenerated Thumbnailimage/jpeg2559https://repository.urosario.edu.co/bitstreams/842a3ee7-7bd5-449c-8a37-aee5706efda0/download22098e24ea9d7bc2f85442ddfb8f1cbaMD5310336/24324oai:repository.urosario.edu.co:10336/243242022-05-02 07:37:16.005452https://repository.urosario.edu.coRepositorio institucional EdocURedocur@urosario.edu.co
