The Flexnerian curriculum has disappeared to permit integration between basic sciences and clinical sciences, which are taught throughout the curriculum. We have proposed a different form of integration where the horizontal axis represents the defined learning outcomes and the vertical axis represents the teaching of the sciences throughout the courses. We believe that a mere integration of basic and clinical sciences is not enough because it is necessary to emphasize the importance of humanism as well as health population sciences in medicine. It is necessary to integrate basic and clinical sciences, humanism, and health population in the vertical axis, not only in the early years but also throughout the curriculum, presupposing the use of active teaching methods based on problems or cases in small groups.application/pdfhttps://doi.org/10.4137/jmecd.s18920https://repository.urosario.edu.co/handle/10336/24803engJournal of Medical Education and Curricular Developmentjmecd.s18920Journal of Medical Education and Curricular DevelopmentVol. 3Journal of Medical Education and Curricular Development, ISSN: , Vol.3, No. (2016-01); pp. jmecd.s18920https://journals.sagepub.com/doi/pdf/10.4137/JMECD.S18920Abierto (Texto Completo)http://purl.org/coar/access_right/c_abf2instname:Universidad del Rosarioreponame:Repositorio Institucional EdocURCurriculum and PedagogyEducationIntegrated Medical Curriculum: Advantages and DisadvantagesarticleArtículohttp://purl.org/coar/version/c_970fb48d4fbd8a85http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_6501Quintero Hernández, Gustavo AdolfoArredondo, MarthaAriza, María-CristinaGómez, PaulaPinzon-Barrios, Ana-MariaVergel Guerrero, John AlexanderORIGINALjmecd-s18920.pdfapplication/pdf444646https://repository.urosario.edu.co/bitstreams/d55f10a4-45fe-473f-a2da-72268ef8516e/download718ec21350b4623ecae992cea3dd8e32MD51TEXTjmecd-s18920.pdf.txtjmecd-s18920.pdf.txtExtracted texttext/plain33261https://repository.urosario.edu.co/bitstreams/83665333-d13e-4f62-97ae-0623e31ddccf/download099baf798745176b8e3735c81f866fa5MD52THUMBNAILjmecd-s18920.pdf.jpgjmecd-s18920.pdf.jpgGenerated Thumbnailimage/jpeg4779https://repository.urosario.edu.co/bitstreams/fc7faa8a-6b56-4985-8d4d-e6ba8543b27a/downloadb124771505b99aa7fde9ab3793d9d603MD5310336/24803oai:repository.urosario.edu.co:10336/248032021-09-30 22:17:37.71https://repository.urosario.edu.coRepositorio institucional EdocURedocur@urosario.edu.co |
