Design/methodology/approach - A longitudinal analysis using panel data based on Box Jenkins' theory was conducted, so to identify statistically significant variables on export performance, regarding expenditure on research, development and innovation (R and D + I) activities, ICT and specialized training and formation. Findings - This study suggests the need to design public policies aimed at stimulating innovation in potential export sectors, as a mechanism for competitive development and growth in emergent economies such as Colombia. Originality/value - The introduction of innovations in goods and services exports has become more important in economies, such as the Colombian ones, where globalization openness processes force to establish minimum competitiveness levels regarding the international standards. © 2017 Emerald Publishing Limited.application/pdfhttps://doi.org/10.1108/IJIS-10-2016-003617572223https://repository.urosario.edu.co/handle/10336/22127engEmerald Group Publishing Ltd.282No. 3265International Journal of Innovation ScienceVol. 9International Journal of Innovation Science, ISSN:17572223, Vol.9, No.3 (2017); pp. 265-282https://www.scopus.com/inward/record.uri?eid=2-s2.0-85029000284&doi=10.1108%2fIJIS-10-2016-0036&partnerID=40&md5=01d67f47aacd259e6dceccb854cb8658Abierto (Texto Completo)http://purl.org/coar/access_right/c_abf2instname:Universidad del Rosarioreponame:Repositorio Institucional EdocURInnovationCompetitive developmentDesign/methodology/approachExportable supplyExportsInternational standardsLatin AmericaLongitudinal analysisNon-traditionalPublic policyExportable supplyExportsInnovationLatin America economyNon-traditional goodsInnovation and the development of exportable supply in non-traditional goods: A longitudinal study in a Latin American economyarticleArtículohttp://purl.org/coar/version/c_970fb48d4fbd8a85http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_6501Pulgarín Molina, Sergio AndrésCastro, Andrés MauricioBallesteros A.Barrera J.M.10336/22127oai:repository.urosario.edu.co:10336/221272023-04-20 21:17:23.475https://repository.urosario.edu.coRepositorio institucional EdocURedocur@urosario.edu.co
