Thus, the potentialities of this new market attracted the industry, so that many enterprises developed their own IoT platforms aiming at helping IoT services’ developers. In the multitude of possible platforms, selecting the most suitable to implement a specific service is not straightforward, especially from a security perspective. This paper analyzes some of the most prominent proposals in the IoT platforms market-place, performing an in-depth security comparison using five common criteria. These criteria are detailed in sub-criteria, so that they can be used as a baseline for the development of a secure IoT service. Leveraging the knowledge gathered from our in-depth study, both researchers and developers may select the IoT platform which best fits their needs. Additionally, an IoT service for monitoring commercial flights is implemented in two previously analyzed IoT platforms, giving an adequate detail level to represent a solid guideline for future IoT developersapplication/pdfhttps://doi.org/10.3390/sym10120669ISSN: 2073-8994https://repository.urosario.edu.co/handle/10336/27518engMDPI journalsNo. 12-669SymmetryVol. 10Symmetry, ISSN:2073-8994, Vol.10, No.12-669 (Noviembre, 2018); 34 pp. https://www.mdpi.com/2073-8994/10/12/669Abierto (Texto Completo)http://purl.org/coar/access_right/c_abf2Symmetryinstname:Universidad del Rosarioreponame:Repositorio Institucional EdocURInternet of ThingsIoT platformsInformation securityIoT securityDeveloping Secure IoT Services: A Security-Oriented Review of IoT PlatformsDesarrollo de servicios de IoT seguros: una revisión de las plataformas de IoT orientada a la seguridadarticleArtículohttp://purl.org/coar/version/c_970fb48d4fbd8a85http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_6501Díaz López, Daniel OrlandoBlanco Uribe, MaríaSantiago Cely, ClaudiaTarquino Murgueitio, DanielGarcia Garcia, EdwinNespoli, PantaleoneGómez Mármol, FélixORIGINALsymmetry-10-00669.pdfapplication/pdf797728https://repository.urosario.edu.co/bitstreams/81445850-198e-4bd3-b58a-a2a065cdad31/downloadc207dee9f9f401de50d74e11fbae3cd9MD51TEXTsymmetry-10-00669.pdf.txtsymmetry-10-00669.pdf.txtExtracted texttext/plain111575https://repository.urosario.edu.co/bitstreams/d5d758a7-fc77-4f9f-91c6-e9b391b5fa40/download6d865603a397f0b64958320213463716MD52THUMBNAILsymmetry-10-00669.pdf.jpgsymmetry-10-00669.pdf.jpgGenerated Thumbnailimage/jpeg4864https://repository.urosario.edu.co/bitstreams/7ab93482-d002-4ad5-a6de-1b8b74e6650b/download15954b8da79cadb272fae22baface4dcMD5310336/27518oai:repository.urosario.edu.co:10336/275182021-06-03 00:50:14.306https://repository.urosario.edu.coRepositorio institucional EdocURedocur@urosario.edu.co
