By way of a preliminary answer, we argue that institutions and citizens that are more deliberative should reinforce each other, and reduce the impact of some of the factors that lead to violence. In this chapter, we first briefly outline the origins of the democracy deficit and the violence associated with the armed conflict, and also the current situation. The following two sections detail experiences of civic and institutional deliberation, and these provide an initial insight into what can generally be expected in terms of people’s behavior and disposition. Finally, we conclude with an idea of what a realistic deliberative democracy might look like in Colombia.application/pdfhttps://doi.org/10.1057/9781137357816ISBN: 978-1-137-35781-6https://repository.urosario.edu.co/handle/10336/26444engPalgrave Macmillan8873Democratic Deliberation in Deeply Divided Societies: From Conflict to Common GroundDemocratic Deliberation in Deeply Divided Societies: From Conflict to Common Ground, ISBN 978-1-137-35781-6 (2014); pp.73-88https://link.springer.com/chapter/10.1057/9781137357816_5Restringido (Acceso a grupos específicos)http://purl.org/coar/access_right/c_16ecDemocratic Deliberation in Deeply Divided Societies: From Conflict to Common Groundinstname:Universidad del Rosarioreponame:Repositorio Institucional EdocURCommon GoodArmed ConflictUnited Nations Development ProgramDeliberative DemocracyParliamentary DebateThe citizens, the politicians and the courts: A preliminary assessment of deliberative capacity in ColombiaLos ciudadanos, los políticos y los tribunales: una evaluación preliminar de la capacidad deliberativa en ColombiabookPartParte de librohttp://purl.org/coar/version/c_970fb48d4fbd8a85http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_3248Orozco M.M.Ugarriza Uribe, Juan Esteban10336/26444oai:repository.urosario.edu.co:10336/264442021-06-03 00:51:04.457https://repository.urosario.edu.coRepositorio institucional EdocURedocur@urosario.edu.co
