The peace agreement process will likely transform the country's physical and socioeconomic landscapes at a time when humans are altering Earth's atmosphere and climate in unprecedented ways. We discuss ways in which these transformative events will act in combination to shape the ecological and environmental future of Colombia. We also highlight the risks of creating perverse development incentives in these critical times, along with the potential benefits – for the country and the world – if Colombia can navigate through the peace process in a way that protects its own environment and ecosystems. © The Ecological Society of Americaapplication/pdfhttps://doi.org/10.1002/fee.195015409295https://repository.urosario.edu.co/handle/10336/24083engWiley Blackwell531No. 9525Frontiers in Ecology and the EnvironmentVol. 16Frontiers in Ecology and the Environment, ISSN:15409295, Vol.16, No.9 (2018); pp. 525-531https://www.scopus.com/inward/record.uri?eid=2-s2.0-85053378364&doi=10.1002%2ffee.1950&partnerID=40&md5=1513fe97b5568918c9844a43f80128a9Abierto (Texto Completo)http://purl.org/coar/access_right/c_abf2instname:Universidad del Rosarioreponame:Repositorio Institucional EdocURArmed forcesEnvironmental riskIncentivePolitical conflictSocioeconomic conditionsSpecies richnessColombiaThe ecology of peace: preparing Colombia for new political and planetary climatesarticleArtículohttp://purl.org/coar/version/c_970fb48d4fbd8a85http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_6501Salazar, AlejandroSánchez Andrade, AdrianaVillegas, Juan CamiloSalazar, Juan FCarrascal, Daniel RuizSitch, StephenRestrepo, Juan DaríoPoveda, GermánFeeley, Kenneth JMercado, Lina MArias, Paola ASierra, Carlos Adel Rosario Uribe, MariaRendón, Angela MPérez, Juan CarlosTortarolo, Guillermo MurrayMercado?Bettin, DanielPosada, José AZhuang, QianlaiDukes, Jeffrey S10336/24083oai:repository.urosario.edu.co:10336/240832022-05-02 07:37:17.311738https://repository.urosario.edu.coRepositorio institucional EdocURedocur@urosario.edu.co |
