El trabajo se llevó a cabo durante 36 meses en los que se cumplió el objetivo de la propuesta de investigación, es decir, desarrollar herramientas moleculares que permitan una utilización más amplia y profunda del hámster como modelo animal en ciencias biológicas y médicas. Los resultados obtenidos se han difundido entre la comunidad científica en una publicación internacional y un segundo artículo ha sido remitido a otra revista internacional indiciada. Se publicó un tema de revisión en una revista nacional (Médicas UIS) y los resultados se divulgaron en dos congresos internacionales (anexos).
