En el siguiente análisis sistemático de literatura se describe una de las miopatías más comunes e importantes en los caballos: la rabdomiólisis inducida por ejercicio. Este síndrome se caracteriza por un daño muscular degenerativo. Se encontró información clave sobre su importancia clínica, tratamientos y la fisioterapia como factor coadyuvante. Se identificaron dos técnicas principales: la electroterapia y la crioterapia, utilizadas para la recuperación muscular, analgesia y mejora del rendimiento deportivo. A pesar de que la fisioterapia no ha sido significativamente estudiada en la medicina aplicada a la especie equina, este documento busca proporcionar información sobre la patología y estos tratamientos coadyuvantes. Se pretende identificar similitudes, diferencias, ventajas y desventajas, proporcionando así a los médicos veterinarios datos fundamentales para la toma de decisiones sobre la fisioterapia en equinos con miopatías agudas o crónicas, que requieran un tratamiento alternativo a la farmacología. |

Se identificaron dos técnicas principales: la electroterapia y la crioterapia, utilizadas para la recuperación muscular, analgesia y mejora del rendimiento deportivo. A pesar de que la fisioterapia no ha sido significativamente estudiada en la medicina aplicada a la especie equina, este documento busca proporcionar información sobre la patología y estos tratamientos coadyuvantes. Se pretende identificar similitudes, diferencias, ventajas y desventajas, proporcionando así a los médicos veterinarios datos fundamentales para la toma de decisiones sobre la fisioterapia en equinos con miopatías agudas o crónicas, que requieran un tratamiento alternativo a la farmacología.In the following systematic literature review, one of the most common and important myopathies in horses is described: exercise-induced rhabdomyolysis. This syndrome is characterized by degenerative muscle damage. Key information was found regarding its clinical importance, treatments, and physiotherapy as an adjunctive factor. Two main techniques were identified: electrotherapy and cryotherapy, used for muscle recovery, pain relief, and enhancement of athletic performance. Although hysiotherapy has not been significantly studied in equine medicine, this document aims to provide information on the pathology and these adjunctive treatments.
