Description
Summary:When constructing roads in Colombia it is important to establish mechanisms for compensation for environmental deterioration and loss of biodiversity. Previous studies indicate that there is still much controversy regarding the application of the Colombian manual used to determine compensation for biodiversity loss. A bibliographic review was carried out covering biodiversity, ecosystem services and integrated management systems. The PrOACT method (problem, objectives, alternatives, consequences, trade-offs) for decision making was used as the framework for a study conducted on the impact of management systems on small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Colombia. © 2018 World Institute for Engineering and Technology Education (WIETE).
