La investigación científica, antes del triunfo de la revolución, no existía como actividad sistemática en la educación superior cubana, es conveniente señalar que en ese momento existían 3 universidades en el país; una de ellas en la Universidad de La Habana, que es la Universidad que por más de 2 siglos fue el único centro de educación superior del país, posteriormente en la década del 40 se creó una Universidad en la parte oriental de la isla y en la parte central en la década ya del 50, es así que al fin de la revolución había 3 centros de educación superior del país. En este momento solo se desarrollaban algunas investigaciones en la rama fundamentalmente médica y en algunas áreas de arquitectura más que como una actividad del profesor como una actividad propia por interés o inquietud más que todo por inquietudes individuales de profesionales que realmente enaltecieron estas profesiones en nuestro país. Es así que nos encontramos con esta situación en el año 1959 ya en febrero de 1962 se dicta la ley de reforma universitaria, esta ley plantea en el aspecto investigativo un principio muy importante que es el objeto fundamental y es que se hicieron muchas reglamentaciones, muchas estructuraciones, muchas renovaciones dentro de la educación superior, pero en el caso de la investigación científica, se estableció un principio muy importante que ha guiado nuestra línea de acción en esta fue considerada la investigación científica como una parte sustancial de la educación superior. |
