Authors from diverse origins, times and disciplines have written treatises about laughter, comedy and the comical to establish a concept and describe humor as a distinctly human characteristic. The strength and importance of studies on humor translate into the analysis of highly significant events, such as those that occurred because of religious satire. This book will reflect on humor starting from approximations regarding its concept, its history or evolution in various contemporary expressions to offer evidence of its daily validity and “seriousness.” The introductory essay will address the effect of the humor-politics relationship, and then two sections will be presented: Graphic Humor, Politics and Religion and Social Repression and Humor. Finally, important conclusions about humor will be drawn and solutions will be proposed to different political and social problems.El humor es una expresión humana universal que se produce dentro de las convenciones y particularidades propias de cada cultura. Autores de diversas procedencias, épocas y disciplinas han escrito tratados acerca de la risa, la comedia y lo cómico con el fin de establecer un concepto y describir el humor como una característica netamente humana. La fuerza y la importancia de los estudios sobre el humor se traduce en el análisis de sucesos de gran trascendencia, como los ocurridos a raíz de la sátira religiosa. Este libro reflexiona sobre el humor partiendo de las aproximaciones a su concepto, su historia o su evolución en diferentes expresiones contemporáneas, con lo que se busca dar evidencia de su vigencia y “seriedad” cotidiana. El ensayo introductorio aborda el efecto de la relación entre el humor y la política, y posteriormente se presentan dos secciones: “Humor gráfico, política y religión”, y “Represión social y humor”.
