description El virus de la leucemia felina (FeLV) es un retrovirus de los gatos domésticos en todo el mundo. Los gatos que carecen de una fuerte inmunidad específica al FeLV y que experimentan una infección progresiva comúnmente desarrollan una enfermedad fatal asociada al FeLV. Se han dilucidado muchos aspectos de la patogenia de la infección por FeLV, algunos durante años más recientes, utilizando técnicas moleculares. Se recomienda conocer el estado de FeLV de cada gato, Este es el patógeno más importante de los gatos, produciendo enfermedades sistémicas crónicas con muerte progresiva de las células involucradas en la respuesta inmune, lo que finalmente conduce a la muerte. El objetivo de este artículo de literatura es ver los serovares y su correlación con los factores antigénicos en sistema inmunológico del gato.

The cats that lack Strong specific immunity to FeLV and who experience progressive infection commonly develop a fatal FeLV-associated disease. Many aspects of the pathogenesis of FeLV infection have been elucidated, some in more recent years using molecular techniques. It is recommended to know the FeLV status of each cat. This is the most important pathogen of cats, producing chronic systemic diseases with progressive death of the cells involved in the immune response, which ultimately leads to death. The objective of this literature article is to see the serovars and their correlation with the antigenic factors in the cat's immune system.
