Introduction: This paper presents a case study of a behavior diagnosed as obsessive-compulsive disorder. Method: The case is analyzed and treated by a method arising from the inter-behavioral approach called “contingency analysis.” The application of the method is illustrated by the analysis of two basic dimensions for this purpose: micro-contingency dimension and macro-contingency dimension. Some important aspects of the genesis of this behavior, as well as the analysis of the selected solutions, are described. The intervention objectives and the techniques used are also explained. Results: Because of the intervention, changes were obtained in the behavior of the user of the service (who was the mother of the person diagnosed with the disorder and her child so diagnosed). Conclusions: The article concludes by detailing the advantages of approaching a case study with the contingency analysis method. |

Se ilustra la aplicación de la metodología al presentar el análisis de dos dimensiones básicas para este propósito: microcontingencial y macrocontingencial. Se describen algunos aspectos importantes de la génesis de este comportamiento, así como el análisis de las soluciones seleccionadas. Igualmente, se presentan los objetivos de intervención y las técnicas empleadas.Resultados: como resultado de la intervención se obtuvieron cambios en el comportamiento de la usuaria del servicio (quien era la madre de la persona diagnosticada con el trastorno y del hijo diagnosticado de esta manera).Conclusiones: se detallan las ventajas de abordar un estudio de caso con la metodología del análisis contingencial.Introdução: este trabalho apresenta um estudo de caso de um comportamento diagnosticado como transtorno obsessivo-compulsivo. Metodologia: o caso é analisado e tratado com uma metodologia advinda da aproximação intercomportamental (interbehavioural) que é denominada “análise contingencial”. A aplicação da metodologia é ilustrada ao apresentar a análise de duas dimensões básicas para este propósito: a dimensão microcontingencial e a dimensão macrocontingencial. Alguns aspectos importantes da gênese desse comportamento são descritos, assim como a análise das soluções selecionadas. De igual forma, os objetivos de intervenção e as técnicas empregadas são apresentados. Resultados: como resultado da intervenção, foram obtidas mudanças do comportamento da usuária do serviço (que era a mãe da pessoa diagnosticada com o transtorno) e do filho assim diagnosticado.
