In order to achieve this, is necessary the redesign of the multilateral trading system with the adjustment of exis-ting rules, the alignment with the multiple regional or interregional preferential trade spaces, and a more intense regional economic integration and cooperation in the di-fferent spaces formed by the Latin American countries. This book analyzes the factors affecting crises in the multilateral trading system and regional agreements, and propo-ses courses of action to develop at the national, regional and global levels.La pérdida de eficacia del sistema multilateral de la Organización Mundial del Comercio (OMC), las tensiones creadas por acuerdos comerciales interregionales y las dificultades en los acuerdos regionales de integración exigen, en particular a los países latinoamericanos, reflexionar sobre las estrategias de inserción externa, encarar la nueva realidad de la distribución del poder mundial –con su impacto en la competencia económica global–, y participar en la transición hacia un nuevo orden económico internacional.Este libro aspira hacer una contribución a quienes se interesan en el fenómeno de la integración regional latinoamericana, ubicado en el marco más amplio de la evolución del sistema internacional, en especial de las instituciones de gobernanza comercial global y, asimismo, en la perspectiva de las diversas realidades de cada país de la región latinoamericana.
