description La presente revisión de literatura tiene como propósito comprender el uso de la arteterapia en el campo de la psicología como un instrumento que facilita el afrontamiento de diferentes situaciones y dificultades de salud mental. Se buscaron artículos científicos en la base de datos Scopus, donde se pudo identificar 100 artículos considerados relevantes incluidos para el análisis de su contenido, se extrajo información relacionada con la población impactada en la intervención, condición de salud mental o física, tipo de arte utilizado y protocolo, resultados y conclusiones. El análisis permite evidenciar que actualmente, la arteterapia tiene un gran ámbito de aplicación, siendo especialmente útil para tratar variables y síntomas relacionados a emociones y comportamiento, trastorno por estrés postraumático, trastorno del espectro autista, trastornos de personalidad, entre otras. Considerando lo anterior, la arteterapia es una herramienta versátil, que se adapta a diferentes tipos de trastornos y permite un abordaje creativo de las problemáticas de salud mental.

Se buscaron artículos científicos en la base de datos Scopus, donde se pudo identificar 100 artículos considerados relevantes incluidos para el análisis de su contenido, se extrajo información relacionada con la población impactada en la intervención, condición de salud mental o física, tipo de arte utilizado y protocolo, resultados y conclusiones. El análisis permite evidenciar que actualmente, la arteterapia tiene un gran ámbito de aplicación, siendo especialmente útil para tratar variables y síntomas relacionados a emociones y comportamiento, trastorno por estrés postraumático, trastorno del espectro autista, trastornos de personalidad, entre otras. Considerando lo anterior, la arteterapia es una herramienta versátil, que se adapta a diferentes tipos de trastornos y permite un abordaje creativo de las problemáticas de salud mental.The purpose of this literature review is to understand the use of art therapy in psychology as a tool to facilitate coping with different situations and mental health difficulties. Scientific articles were searched in the Scopus database, where 100 articles considered relevant were identified and included for content analysis. The information extracted was related to the population who participated in the intervention, mental or physical health condition, art technique that was used, protocol, results, and conclusions. The analysis shows that currently, art therapy has a wide range of application, being especially useful to treat difficulties regarding emotion and behavior, post-traumatic stress disorder, autism spectrum disorder, personality disorders, among others.
