Introduction: Teacher-student interaction is one of the most important aspectsfor adequate development of the learning process. Objectives: To interpret and describe the interaction between students and teachers in the School of Dentistry at the Universidad Cooperativa de Colombia by approaching their experiences in different learning environments. Methods: A qualitative study was carried out with an approach and method that take up elements of ethnography. Ten in-depth interviews with students and teachers as well as participant observation were conducted, and field journals were completed. For the analysis, pre-established and emerging categories were considered, from which several trends emerged. Results: Students express continuity of a role of power by some of the teachers in the clinical area, which is reflected in the imposition of authority and little recognition of the student. Teachers, through their experiences, question the way in which students from the new generations understand the discipline. |

Objetivos:Interpretar y describir la interacción de los estudiantes y profesores en la facultad de odontología de la Universidad Cooperativa de Colombia, mediante el acercamiento a sus experiencias en distintos ambientes de aprendizaje. Métodos: Se Estudio de corte cualitativo con enfoque y método que retoma elementos de la etnografía. Se realizaron 10 entrevistas en profundidad a estudiantes y profesores. Se realizó observación participante y se diligenciaron diarios de campo. Para el análisis se consideraron categorías preestablecidas y emergentes, a partir de las cuales surgieron varias tendencias.Resultados: Se los estudiantes expresan la continuidad de la asunción de un rol de poder por parte de algunos de los profesores del área clínica, que se refleja en la imposición de la autoridad y escaso reconocimiento del estudiante. Los profesores a través de los sus experiencias cuestionan la forma en la que entienden la disciplina los estudiantes de las nuevas generaciones.Introdução: a interação professor-estudante é um dos aspectos mais importantespara um desenvolvimento adequado do processo de aprendizagem. Objetivos: interpretar e descrever a interação dos estudantes e professores na Faculdade de Odontologia da Universidade Cooperativa da Colômbia, mediante a aproximação a suas experiências em diferentes ambientes de aprendizagem. Métodos: realizou-se um estudo de coorte qualitativo com enfoque e método que retoma elementos da etnografia. Foram conduzidas dez entrevistas em profundidade com estudantes e professores, bem como observação participante, e foram preenchidos diários de campo. Para a análise foram consideradas categorias pré-estabelecidas e emergentes, a partir das quais surgiram várias tendências. Resultados: os estudantes expressam a continuidade da assunção de um papel de poder por parte de alguns dos professores da área clínica, o que se reflete na imposição da autoridade e o escasso reconhecimento do estudante.
