Es una patología que afecta animales jóvenes, machos y generalmente aquellos que habitan en hacinamiento. Así mismo, se cree que al ser una enfermedad tan poco específica, se debe tener en cuenta que para su diagnóstico acertado se debe recoger todo tipo de información que encamine a la enfermedad, desde los antecedentes del paciente, como los signos clínicos y todos aquellos métodos de diagnóstico que puedan utilizarse, porque no solo se puede apoyar en uno solo, sino en diversos. el presente artículo pretende recopilar información actualizada al respecto de la enfermedad y sus métodos diagnósticos, para así convertirse en una herramienta útil de pesquisa para los médicos veterinarios dedicados a la clínica de los felinos.
