Learning Styles and the Use of ICT in University Students within a Competency-Based Training Model. J. New Approaches Educ. Res. 2019. 8. (1):p. 1-6. .The purpose of the study was to determine the learning styles (LS) and the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in university students within a competency-based training model, as well as to identify possible differences related to the frequency of use of ICT in terms of gender. A descriptive and correlational quantitative approach was applied with a non-experimental and transversal design. The study used an intentional non-probabilistic sample of 113 students in undergraduate psychology, public accounting and business administration programs that use a competency-based model at a private Colombian university. The outcome showed no significant differences among LS or in the frequency of ICT use in students with competency-based training. Additionally, the outcome showed a gender gap in which male students had the highest scores for the use of ICT. © 2019, NAER Journal of New Approaches in Educational Research.0000-0002-2582-2495sergio.barbosag@campusucc.edu.co6-1Universidad de AlicanteCommunication technologyHigher educationInformation technologyLearningLearning Styles and the Use of ICT in University Students within a Competency-Based Training ModelArtículohttp://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_6501http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_2df8fbb1http://purl.org/coar/version/c_970fb48d4fbd8a85info:eu-repo/semantics/articlehttp://purl.org/redcol/resource_type/ARTinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionJournal of new approaches in educational researchinfo:eu-repo/semantics/closedAccesshttp://purl.org/coar/access_right/c_14cbPublication20.500.12494/41349oai:repository.ucc.edu.co:20.500.12494/413492024-08-20 16:17:30.553metadata.onlyhttps://repository.ucc.edu.coRepositorio Institucional Universidad Cooperativa de Colombiabdigital@metabiblioteca.com
