It is important to prioritize them according to the history, clinical signs and evaluation by the veterinarian, performing animal trauma triage (ATT) useful for the timely care and prognosis of the feline patient. The most common causes of emergencies include bite injuries by canines mainly in animals that frequently go outside, which can be fatal and can even end in a legal dispute between owners. Followed by ocular emergencies that can develop quickly, generally due to trauma to the eye or periocular area, including proptosis, eyelid lacerations, corneal ulcers, foreign bodies, feline uveitis, and glaucoma, which require specialized consultation. Another cause of emergencies in cats is caused by dyspnea, difficult or difficult breathing, it is commonly presented due to lung contusions, pneumothorax, diaphragmatic hernia, or unstable chest, and even asthma exacerbation. It is important to make the cat owner or guardian understand the benefits of initial stabilization of the patient in the event of an emergency, this will provide time to consider the appropriate diagnosis and subsequent therapeutic approach that may include oxygen supplementation, pain management, sedation. , x-rays, ultrasound, thoracentesis, antibiotic therapy among others.
