This book presents unpublished results on the recent past of the profession and the educational experience in two cities that don’t have documented historical references. With this, it is possible to understand recent processes related to professional practice, education, and representations of nursing development in the last two decades. In this way, it is possible to go beyond the historical contents to other facets of nursing. Additionally, one of the motivations to write this document was the absence of the historical record of the activities and practices associated with the development of the profession, which in different segments of the book is presented as an apocryphal nursing. This book seeks to reach researchers, students, and anyone interested in nursing. Thinking about this, we have included sections for the beginner reader who is unaware of the profession or who is barely approaching it. Thus, it can be taken as the basis for future research, as well as for didactic purposes.La historia de la enfermería es un tema que se ha convertido en parte importante del quehacer del área en el ámbito educativo y de la investigación, toda vez que analiza y describe el desarrollo de los procesos que han permitido su constitución como campo de conocimiento. En este libro se presentan resultados inéditos sobre el pasado reciente de la profesión y la experiencia educativa en dos ciudades que no cuentan con referentes históricos documentados. Con ello, se posibilita la comprensión de los procesos recientes relacionados con la práctica profesional, la educación y las representaciones de la enfermería desarrollada en las últimas dos décadas. De esta forma, se logra dar un paso más allá de los contenidos históricos hacia otras facetas del ámbito de la enfermería. Adicionalmente, una de las motivaciones para escribir este documento fue la ausencia del registro histórico de las actividades y prácticas asociadas con el desarrollo de la profesión, que en diferentes segmentos del libro se presenta como una enfermería apócrifa. Este es un libro que busca llegar tanto a investigadores y estudiantes, como a todo aquel interesado por la enfermería. Pensando en ello, se han incluido apartes para el lector principiante que desconoce la profesión o que apenas se aproxima a ella.
