La leptospirosis es una enfermedad zoonótica de distribución mundial cuyo agente causal es una espiroqueta gram negativa del género Leptospira y la especie a tratar en este caso es: L. interrogans que puede afectar cualquier especie animal y a los humanos. La manera como la leptospira interrogans causa infecciones es a través de dos mecanismos Tiene factores de virulencia asociados a la Leptospira de especies patógenas los cuales pueden ser; endotoxinas, hemolisinas (también llamadas esfingomielinasas), termolisinas, fosfolipasa y proteínas superficiales de adherencia. Se reporta en la literatura lipoproteínas presentes en la membrana externa de la bacteria entre las cuales se identifica LipL32 que solo está presente en las especies patógenas como Leptospira icterhemorragiae, la cual es una buena candidata para la elaboración tanto de la vacuna como desarrollo de técnicas diagnósticas. La inmunidad generada es principalmente la humoral, la bacteria tiene un periodo de incubación de 4 a 10 días, se disemina en hígado, riñones, pulmones, placenta y SNC. El objetivo de este artículo es dar a conocer los diferentes factores de virulencia que intervienen en el desarrollo de la enfermedad. |

It has virulence faxtors associated with the Leptospira of pathogenic species which can be; endotoxins, hemolysins, phingomyelinase, phospholipase, and surface adhesion proteins. Lipoproteins present in the outer membrane of the bacteria are reported in the literature, among which LipL32 is identified, which is only present in pathogenic species such as Leptospira icterhemorragiae, which is a good candidate for the preparation of both the vaccine and the development of diagnostic techniques. The immunity generated is mainly humoral, the bacterium has an incubation period of 4 to 10 days, it spreads in the liver, kidneys, lungs, placenta and CNS.
