Solution thermodynamics and preferential solvation of triclocarban in {1,4-dioxane (1) + water (2)} mixtures at 298.15 K

The equilibrium solubility and preferential solvation of triclocarban in {1,4-dioxane (1) + water (2)} mixtures at 298.15 K was reported. Mole fraction solubility varies continuously from 2.85 × 10–9 in neat water to 2.39 × 10–3 in neat 1,4-dioxane. Solubility behaviour was adequately correlated by...

Mole fraction solubility varies continuously from 2.85 × 10–9 in neat water to 2.39 × 10–3 in neat 1,4-dioxane. Solubility behaviour was adequately correlated by means of the Jouyban-Acree model. Based on the inverse Kirkwood-Buff integrals, preferential solvation parameters were calculated. Triclocarban is preferentially solvated by water in water-rich mixtures (0.00 < x1 < 0.18) and also in 1,4-dioxane-rich mixtures (0.78 < x1 < 1.00) but preferentially solvated by 1,4-dioxane in mixtures with similar solvent compositions. © 2017 Informa UK Limited, trading as Taylor & Francis Group0000-0002-4835-9739danielr.delgado@campusucc.edu.co12-1Taylor and Francis Ltd.SolubilitySolvationThermodynamicsEquilibrium solubilitiesIKBIJouyban-Acree modelKirkwood-Buff integralsPreferential solvationSolution thermodynamicsSolvent compositionTriclocarbanMixturesSolution thermodynamics and preferential solvation of triclocarban in {1,4-dioxane (1) + water (2)} mixtures at 298.15 KArtículohttp://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_6501http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_2df8fbb1http://purl.org/coar/version/c_970fb48d4fbd8a85info:eu-repo/semantics/articlehttp://purl.org/redcol/resource_type/ARTinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionPHYS CHEM LIQinfo:eu-repo/semantics/closedAccesshttp://purl.org/coar/access_right/c_14cbPublication20.500.12494/41597oai:repository.ucc.edu.co:20.500.12494/415972024-08-20 16:22:04.325metadata.onlyhttps://repository.ucc.edu.coRepositorio Institucional Universidad Cooperativa de Colombiabdigital@metabiblioteca.com
