description La mastitis es una inflamación del tejido de la ubre consecuente a una infección intramamaria, esta suele afectar a las producciones de ganadería lechera y es ocasionada principalmente por microorganismos patógenos, tales como el Staphylococcus aureus, siendo uno de los agentes etiológicos más comunes de esta patología. El uso irracional de antibióticos ha generado resistencia bacteriana, por lo cual se han planteado terapias alternativas, una de estas es por medio de bacteriófagos, estos tienen la finalidad de destruir las principales bacterias causantes de la enfermedad.
