description La Campylobacteriosis genital bovina, enfermedad llamada hace unos años Vibriosis, es una patología que representa grandes pérdidas económicas en los hatos ganaderos a nivel mundial, y que requiere de un plan diagnóstico adecuado. Es provocada por un agente del género Campylobacter que abarca varias especies, siendo una de las más importantes Campylobacter fetus subsp venerealis. Existen diversas pruebas diagnósticas como inmunofluorescencia indirecta, Elisa, cultivo y PCR, donde su uso depende de varios factores como el sexo, tipo de muestra y demás. La prevención es la mejor estrategia para evitar la presencia y diseminación de esta patología en la especie bovina, por ejemplo, el uso de IA, la vacunación, realizar pruebas diagnósticas periódicas y al ingresar un animal nuevo, entre otras.
