The main topics discussed in the article, such as conceptualization of executive function, general principles of intervention and effectiveness of some training programs, are described. It concludes by emphasizing the need to explore different intervention methods to choose the one that best suits the individuality of each subject. Similarly, the interest of the vast majority of researchers in studying training methods aimed at schoolchildren, putting aside those who are not linked to a formal education process, is criticized.La presente reseña desarrolla una línea argumentativa que describe la relevancia del estudio de las funciones ejecutivas en el contexto de la evaluación e intervención. Se describen los principales tópicos discutidos en el artículo, tales como la conceptualización de función ejecutiva, los principios generales de intervención y la eficacia de algunos programas de entrenamiento. Se concluye enfatizando la necesidad de estudiar diferentes métodos de intervención para elegir el que más se adecúe a la individualidad de cada sujeto. De igual forma, se apuntan críticas al interés de la gran mayoría de investigadores en el estudio de métodos de entrenamiento dirigidos a niños escolarizados, poniendo de parte los que no se encuentran vinculados a un proceso de educación formal.Esta resenha desenvolve uma linha argumentativa que descreve a relevância do estudo das funções executivas no contexto da avaliação e da intervenção. Descrevem-se os principais tópicos discutidos no artigo, tais como a conceitualização de função executiva, os princípios gerais de intervenção e a eficácia de alguns programas de treinamento. Conclui-se enfatizando a necessidade de estudar diferentes métodos de intervenção para escolher o que mais se adapte à individualidade de cada sujeito.
