description El rol de cuidador familiar es crucial en la atención de seres queridos, sin embargo, conlleva una sobrecarga que puede impactar diversas áreas en la vida, con afectaciones físicas, emocionales, sociales y económicas. Los cuidadores tienen estrategias de afrontamiento las cuales varían y permiten enfrentar sucesos tensionantes según los recursos personales que tiene cada uno. Este estudio tuvo como objetivo identificar los niveles de sobrecarga y las estrategias de afrontamiento utilizadas por los cuidadores familiares de niños estudiantes con neurodiversidad. La investigación se realizó con un diseño cuantitativo descriptivo, no experimental y contó con una muestra no probabilística de 15 cuidadores familiares. Para la recolección de datos, se aplicó una encuesta sociodemográfica y los instrumentos Escala de Sobrecarga del Cuidador de Zarit (ZCBI) y la Escala de Modos de Afrontamiento. Los resultados revelaron que la estrategia “Autocontrol” es la más comúnmente empleada, mientras que existe una tendencia mínima a utilizar la estrategia “Aceptación de la responsabilidad”, independiente del nivel de sobrecarga percibido por cada sujeto de la muestra. Se concluyó que para propiciar el bienestar de los cuidadores familiares es fundamental priorizar su participación en programas y/o grupos que atiendan las necesidades de apoyo social, emocional y de formación acorde al rol del cuidador

Los cuidadores tienen estrategias de afrontamiento las cuales varían y permiten enfrentar sucesos tensionantes según los recursos personales que tiene cada uno. Este estudio tuvo como objetivo identificar los niveles de sobrecarga y las estrategias de afrontamiento utilizadas por los cuidadores familiares de niños estudiantes con neurodiversidad. La investigación se realizó con un diseño cuantitativo descriptivo, no experimental y contó con una muestra no probabilística de 15 cuidadores familiares. Para la recolección de datos, se aplicó una encuesta sociodemográfica y los instrumentos Escala de Sobrecarga del Cuidador de Zarit (ZCBI) y la Escala de Modos de Afrontamiento. Los resultados revelaron que la estrategia “Autocontrol” es la más comúnmente empleada, mientras que existe una tendencia mínima a utilizar la estrategia “Aceptación de la responsabilidad”, independiente del nivel de sobrecarga percibido por cada sujeto de la muestra. Se concluyó que para propiciar el bienestar de los cuidadores familiares es fundamental priorizar su participación en programas y/o grupos que atiendan las necesidades de apoyo social, emocional y de formación acorde al rol del cuidadorThe role of family caregiver is crucial in caring for loved ones, however, it entails an overload that can impact various areas of life, with physical, emotional, social and economic effects. Caregivers have coping strategies which vary and allow them to face stressful events depending on the personal resources that each one has. This study aimed to identify the levels of overload and coping strategies used by family caregivers of student children with neurodiversity. The research was carried out with a descriptive, non-experimental quantitative design and included a non-probabilistic sample of 15 family caregivers. For data collection, a sociodemographic survey and the instruments Zarit Caregiver Burden Scale (ZCBI) and the Coping Modes Scale were applied. The results revealed that the “Self-control” strategy is the most commonly used, while there is a minimal tendency to use the “Acceptance of responsibility” strategy, regardless of the level of overload perceived by each subject in the sample.
