El objetivo de este trabajo fue realizar una compilación bibliográfica de diferentes autores que analizan y estudian las enfermedades ováricas foliculares (COD) común en vacas lecheras; como lo son el quiste folicular y quiste lúteal, de esta forma exponer la epidemiologia, etiología, patogenia, sintomatología, medios diagnósticos y tratamiento de la (COD). Comprendiendo así las características morfo fisiológicas del quiste folicular y quiste lúteal. Con una incidencia reportada en hatos lecheros de 6 - 19%, durante las primeras 10 semanas post parto, es una causa principal de falla reproductiva. Los quistes foliculares son caracterizados por tener un diámetro mayor a 20mm; presentan signos como celo intenso y prolongado denominado ninfomanía, mientras que los quistes luteales son característicos por tener un diámetro mayor a 25mm; presenta signos de ausencia de celo e inactividad cíclica. la causa del desarrollo de esta enfermedad no es completamente comprendida, pero se cree que es por un desbalance endocrino a nivel del eje hipotalámico - hipofisiario - gonadal y otros factores generales como: genética, producción de leche, edad, medio ambiente, nutrición, estrés entre otros que son causa predisponente. |

Understanding the physiological morphological characteristics of the follicular cyst and luteal cyst. With a reported incidence in dairy herds of 6 - 19%, during the first 10 weeks postpartum, it is a major cause of reproductive failure. Follicular cysts are characterized by having a diameter greater than 20 mm; have signs such as intense and prolonged heat called nymphomania, whereas luteal cysts are characteristic because they have a diameter greater than 25 mm; shows signs of lack of zeal and cyclical inactivity. the cause of the development of this disease is not fully understood but is believed to be due to an endocrine imbalance at the hypothalamic - pituitary - gonadal axis and other general factors such as: genetics, milk production, age, environment, nutrition, stress others that are predisposing cause.giovanny.suarez@campusucc.edu.co8 p.
