description La enfermedad renal es una de las patologías mas densas que hay en la clínica diaria de pequeños animales y tiene variedad de etiologías, su diagnóstico es complejo y los mecanismos de tratamiento son diversos dependiendo de los diferentes porcentajes de lesión presente, lo ideal es determinar o aproximar el porcentaje del daño y a su vez poder instaurar el tratamiento idóneo, para así lograr mantener una función renal optima y generar una calidad de vida en los pacientes y por medio de este articulo mostramos los diferentes biomarcadores y su efectividad en la determinación del daño renal y porcentaje afectado en el parénquima.
